South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol's impeachment on Saturday, suspending him from his official duties, capped 11 days of political crisis that roiled his country, sparked by his surprise decision to impose martial law.

Impeached President said he will “never give up” and called for officials to maintain stability in government functions during what he described as a “temporary” pause of his presidency.

South Korea's parliament on Saturday voted to impeach President Yoon Suk Yeol, almost two weeks following his botched attempt to institute martial law. A second motion submitted by the largest opposition party in South Korea secured the required two-thirds majority.
