Dozens of family members, friends and brothers and sisters in blue came out on Sunday night to remember fallen Terrell police officer Jacob Candanoza.

Loved ones and community members gathered Wednesday evening to honor the life of fallen Terrell police officer Jacob Candanoza.

Candanoza’s funeral will be in the same church where fallen Greenville Police Officer Cooper Dawson was memorialized just two weeks earlier.

In a Facebook post, the Terrell Police Department said K-9 Officer Max was suffering from an illness and died over the weekend.

Officer Jacob Candanoza’s patrol vehicle has been parked outside the Terrell Police Department since Monday. It was turned into a temporary memorial following Candanoza being fatally shot after he pulled a man over for a traffic stop late Sunday.

Community members in Terrell gathered to mourn an officer killed in the line of duty and pray for his family. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) said Wednesday he’s “doing everything” he can to try to pass legislation that would enact some Social Security before Congress ushers in a new class next month.

A procession was held on Wednesday morning for the Terrell police officer who was killed in the line of duty late Sunday night. Officer Jacob Candanoza is the first fallen officer for the Terrell Police Department since the 1980s.
