Human remains discovered in a vehicle found submerged in the Mississippi River in September have been identified of a missing East Moline man from 2019.

The remains were identified as Daniel Claeys, who was in his early 30s when his family said he was missing in 2019.

A 32-year-old man last seen at a casino in Washington was found dead in his submerged truck three years after he disappeared, officials said. The body of Terry “TJ” Shinaver of St. Helens, Oregon, was discovered Dec. 7 in water off Dike Road in Woodland, Washington, the Cowlitz County Coroner said in a Dec. 15 news release.

A homicide investigation is underway after a man was reportedly found dead Sunday morning in Accomack County. Deputies were called to a reported vehicle fire that had spread to the nearby brush on Green Hill Road in New Church.
