Since 2023, Bell has partnered with Air Canada to provide passengers with free WiFi texting. This has only been available for members of Aeroplan, Air Canada’s frequent flier program. Starting in May 2025, passengers will have access to full and free WiFi connectivity.

Air Canada currently offers a range of Wi-Fi packages on select flights for a fee, starting at $6.50 for a prepaid one-hour pass. A $21 one-way pass allows passengers to browse the internet for the duration of their flight, while a monthly plan costs $65.95.

Air Canada says it plans to roll out fast, free, streaming-quality Wi-Fi next May, to Aeroplan members on Wi-Fi equipped aircraft for flights within North American and Sun markets. The airline also plans to expand free Wi-Fi service to long-haul international routes in 2026.

Air Canada plans to roll out free Wi-Fi across its fleet starting with North America and Caribbean flights this spring, followed by long-haul flights in 2026.

Air Canada plans to offer free Wi-Fi to Aeroplan members aboard its flights starting next year, building on a partnership with telecom giant Bell that already gives passengers free text messaging capabilities.
