Five people were injured and "extensive" property damage was reported by city officials after an EF1 tornado hit Scotts Valley during a thunderstorm.

In Scotts Valley, people are still trying to wrap their heads around ... Mount Hermon Road, where it hit, is the second busiest street in the entire Santa Cruz County area. So it's the most travelled (in our town). It hit right at 1:30 in the afternoon.
